Varicose veins are more than just a cosmetic concern; they can lead to aching, swelling, and a heavy feeling in the legs. Left untreated, they may cause complications such as skin ulcers or blood clots. Our experienced specialists focus on delivering safe and effective solutions tailored to your specific needs.
Varicose veins develop when the valves in the veins weaken, causing blood to pool and the veins to enlarge. This leads to discomfort, visible bulging, and skin changes. At Southwest Wound Care, we use modern techniques to treat varicose veins in Lubbock, TX, helping you regain confidence and improve circulation.
Our clinic provides two of the most effective varicose vein treatments available today: Laser Vein Treatment and Varithena Vein Treatment in Lubbock, TX.

Varithena is a specialized foam treatment designed to treat large, twisted varicose veins. The foam is injected into the vein, causing it to collapse and close. Blood is then rerouted to healthier veins, improving circulation and reducing discomfort.
Laser vein treatment is a highly effective method for closing off damaged veins. A thin laser fiber is inserted into the vein, where it delivers targeted laser energy to collapse and seal the vein. Over time, the body naturally absorbs the closed vein, and blood flow is redirected to healthier veins.

I have been going to the Southwest Regional Wound Care Center here in Lubbock since last fall, for treatment of a large wound in my leg, which was the result of cancer surgery and the removal of a major muscle in my thigh. I have been under the care of Dr. Joe Wolcott and I cannot say enough good about this doctor and this Center. Dr. Wolcott is amazing – professional, knowledgeable, caring, kind and friendly, with a delightful low key personality. He has been so attentive and so positive and encouraging all through the long management of this big wound, and the end is finally in sight and he is encouraging me that soon the wound will completely close. He has used some state of the art techniques on this wound, including skin grafting with placental tissue, laser treatments, and antibiotic and cellular growth stimulating products which are applied each week inside this wound. The entire staff at the Center are amazing and the friendliness, caring, and expertise of each of the ones I’ve had contact with, simply continues to amaze me. I have recommended Dr. Wolcott and the Center to many of my acquaintances, and to the physical therapists at the PT center where I’ve also been going. This cancer surgery I had last year, has been a long, ongoing journey, but some of my best memories of the whole experience, will always be the excellent care and kind people at the Southwest Regional Wound Care Center – and Dr. Joe Wolcott!

Our Hearts Are In Healing!

When a Wound Is Not Healing as Expected
When a wound isn’t healing as expected, you may need a more thorough evaluation to determine what’s responsible for the delay in healing skin issues.
At Southwest Regional WoundCare Center, we know that many times, factors external to the wound are responsible for delayed healing, such as poor blood flow to the wound area or an active infection.
We have expertise in evaluating and treating conditions such as venous ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, circulation-related wounds, non-healing surgical wounds, and wounds affected by underlying vascular disease.
Our range of services enable us to determine healing obstacles by using the latest and most accurate test methods and assessments.
Our treatments include biofilm-based wound treatment, vascular imaging/ studies, management of venous disease, molecular diagnostics, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, as well as many other diagnostic tools which help us develop the best treatment for wounds.
All of our experts work together to develop a customized care plan that’s patient-specific and will result in better healing and that’ll also address the reasons for the development of the chronic wound(s).
It’s important to schedule an evaluation with a wound specialist when the wound doesn’t seem to be healing or when there are some restrictions or limitations on circulation that might impair the healing process.
By getting patients evaluated early, specialists can do a complete assessment of the wound and determine if advanced wound treatment is needed to promote healing. Prompt assessment is the most effective step to improving overall recovery rates.
At Southwest Regional Wound Care Center in Lubbock, we provide a comprehensive range of services required for each patient’s unique condition. We integrate our expertise in various treatment approaches to create a customized plan for appropriate advanced wound care in our clinic.
One example of how we integrate our services is by performing diagnostic tests to help identify the most effective method of taking care of the patient’s wound, while providing therapeutic modalities to promote wound healing and maintain the patient’s quality of life.
In addition to wound care, we also provide evaluation and management for vascular disease, which helps us assess a patient’s natural healing abilities.
The use of diagnostic vascular studies assists us in determining whether a patient’s healing process is affected by any vascular-related problems they are experiencing, and therefore indicates whether to continue with advanced wound care or recommend additional procedures to improve the patient’s circulatory system.
Essentially, our ultimate aim is to support the healing process of any wound.
All of our employees are dedicated to each and every patient that walks through our doors. We are proud that we can get the patient in and out of the clinic in 30-45 minutes.
