About Dr. Joseph “Joe” Wolcott MD, CWSP
Dr. Joe Wolcott is a native Texan born in Lubbock in 1979 while his father was finishing his Ph.D. in chemistry from Texas Tech University. Growing up, Dr. Joe had a strong family background in medicine which sparked his interest in the field.
His grandfather, Lester, was the first of many physicians in the Wolcott family.
Dr. Wolcott graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Texas Tech University in 2001. He received his Doctor of Medicine in 2006 from Texas Tech School of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Texas Tech SOM Health Sciences Center in Lubbock in 2009.
Dr. Wolcott began training in wound care under the mentorship of his uncle, Dr. Randall Wolcott, during residency. Over the past ten years he has worked as a hospitalist and wound care physician.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine and a Certified Wound Specialist Physician. Dr. Wolcott loves spending time with his wife, Kensie, and their 3 children. He enjoys spending time ranching where his family raises exotic animals. He is an avid bow hunter and a devoted supporter of Texas Tech University.
