VASCULAR STUDIES – Diagnostic Sonography

Customized and Comprehensive Venous and Arterial Studies
Several different vascular studies are conducted at the South West Regional Wound Care Center making evaluation quick and easy for our patients convenience.

Lower Extremity Venous Ultrasound: Our skilled sonographer is able to evaluate the deep and superficial venous system. Using this information we are able to make diagnostic decisions on best management for our patients with lower extremity wounds (eg. venous leg ulcers) , edema, or vericose veins.

Lower Extremity Arterial Duplex: Evaluation of the lower extremity arterial system is of upmost importance to determine chances of wound healing and evaluate for peripheral arterial disease. This procedure is done in under an hour. We work closely with several local cardiologist and vascular surgeons that can perform peripheral intervention to reestablish blood flow when compromised. This approach has saved many of our patients from undergoing amputations.
